The Envirnmental Factors Among Male Chronic Schizophrenics


Abstract
Several social factors of the male chronic scizophrenic patients were studied for the purpose of evaluation of their ecology.
The results are as follows:
1) All of the cases lost their occupation because of admission due to mental illness or of poor social behavior. Student and merchant were most frequent occupation before onset.
2) They have duty for army service in 38.5 percent inspite of a chronicity of their illness. They were discharged from army with full service in 33.3 percent, discharged due to mental illness in 16.7 percent and free from duty due to mental illness in 11.5 percent.
3) They are from urban area in 55:1 percent, from rural area in 43.6 percent. The foreign born and refugee from North Korea were noted in 12.9 percent.
